Low temperature plasma adenoidectomy+tonsillectomy to bid farewell to snoring in a seven year old child
Case report
7-year-old girl Xiaomin (pseudonym) has been snoring during nighttime sleep for the past three years. For the past two months, Xiaomin has been breathing through her mouth and sometimes even experiencing breathing pauses, each lasting about 30 seconds.
After examination by the hospital's electronic nasopharyngoscope, it was found that adenoids accounted for about 4/5 of the bilateral posterior nostrils, and the bilateral tonsils were enlarged to the third degree. After detailed examination, it was diagnosed as chronic tonsillitis, adenoid hypertrophy, and allergic rhinitis.

The relevant hospital believes that Xiaomin (pseudonym) needs surgical treatment. The hospital has developed a personalized surgical plan and decided to use minimally invasive and relatively safe low-temperature plasma ablation for pediatric adenoids and tonsils.
During the operation, the doctor quickly removed the adenoids and tonsils of the child with exquisite skills, and the intraoperative bleeding was almost zero. On the second day after surgery, the child's nasal congestion and snoring symptoms disappeared, and their sleep quality improved. The illness that had troubled the child for three years was finally cured.

Preschool children are in the peak period of adenoid development, and many children often have adenoid hypertrophy, tonsil hypertrophy, and adenoid facial features. Parents should pay special attention to their children's snoring and the frequency of snoring. If they experience sleep holding, breathing pauses, mouth breathing, difficulty breathing, insomnia, enuresis, daytime sleepiness, attention deficit, and hyperactivity, they should seek medical attention in a timely manner. When the effect of drug intervention is not significant, surgical treatment can be considered.
Low temperature plasma ablation is a new technology developed in recent years. This technology is applied in adenoid surgery, with a surgical approach that goes directly through the mouth and nasal cavity to the nasopharynx and pharyngeal lesions, avoiding traditional scraping and shearing surgical methods and perfectly solving the problem of wound bleeding after adenoidectomy. This truly achieves "precision and minimally invasive" adenoid surgery, reducing surgical pain and postoperative complications, shortening hospital stay, and is currently the preferred surgical method for treating pediatric snoring!
